A Dad Learning What It’s Like To Be A Mom

Saturday morning, my loving husband (Tim) decided to take our son to the creative discovery museum inorder to let me sleep, since I had worked overnight. This was a great idea. My son (Thomas) is into watching DVDs in the car whenever we go somewhere, so we MUST keep a stash in the car.  After returning home from the museum, Tim decides to bring EVERY DVD from the car into the house to watch with Thomas.  Okay, fine!  Sunday morning, on our way to church…remember I had just gotten off work at 7am, showered, fed Thomas, tried to make myself presentable, dressed Thomas, grabbed a diaper bag (praying it had everything I needed) and headed out the door….we get in the car and head down the road when Thomas babbles for his DVD’s. Alright, I will just grab one from the middle console and pop it in.  NOT! There was no DVDs to be found..ANYWHERE! So Thomas commences into a total screaming meltdown.  In my head I was saying things that I didn’t want the Lord to hear out loud, but I know you heard me Lord and I’m sorry.  I simply told Thomas that we would have to listen to gospel this morning and leave it at that.

Payback—–So, Monday arrives and I get into my car to go on a consulting gig and what do I find in my frontseat?!! About 50 CDs strewn all over.  I immediately recognized that as a frantic search for DVDs.  Tim had to take Thomas to school that morning and used my car and realized that Thomas had no DVDs to watch on the way to school and had to deal with the MELTDOWN DRAMA at 6:30 in the morning. KEEKEEKEEKEE! I would have loved to have been a fly on that minivan window!
