A Splash Of Christianity!

My hairdresser and I had a very funny conversation today about churches (mega churches in particular).  She was telling me the story about her sister who has been disappointed in the church that she used to attend. It was a very large church with an affluent and professional congregation. She described how there we desk-like chairs around the pulpit where the deacons and deaconesses sat which resembled the Senate and the House.  It was not an atmosphere of making people feel welcome if they were not in a “certain circle”.  And after all of that was said and done, she stated that they injected a SPLASH of christianity into the services. Kinda like Dasani with a splash of lemon.  It is not an overwhelming taste but you get a hint of it.

Are we only getting a “hint” of Christianity in our churches nowadays??!!  Are we so consumed with a “good feeling” sermon that we overlook the core of Christian service?  In this life, we are not always going to be made to feel good.  There are times when we need to be uncomfortable inorder to force us to determine where our real “good feeling” comes from.

Don’t accept a SPLASH of Christianity in the next sermon that you attend. Read the Word for yourself and receive the full robust taste of something Mmm Mmm Good!
