Turkey and Oatmeal…Yeah The Joy!

Well this first week of the “No to Zocor” diet has been full of turkey and oatmeal.  How many different ways can you make turkey???  I think I have saturated the possibilities or polyunsaturated the possibilities for that matter.

I am still focused though. It really is just a matter of knowing where to find the foods that you need to eat and presenting them to yourself in a pleasing manner.  Like, now instead of keeping all of my fruits and vegetables in the plastic bags that I buy them in at the grocery, I either go ahead and cut up the fruit and place in the fridge OR I keep the veggies loose in the veggie compartment so that I can see how beautiful they are and ready to be eaten.

Before, I thought I was doing a pretty decent job of cooking everyday for my family BUT now I realize real cooking does not involve opening a box of hamburger helper and nuking a couple of potatoes.  I actually have to chop up veggies and sautee them in a skillet. I have to measure things out before I cook them.  What a new venture for me.  Although it takes a little more time, it is fun (believe it or not) and I look forward to what the next great thing I can make with turkey will be:-).
