I think I have this vacation thing all wrong. I prefer NOT to use my vacations as relaxation time, but more for great sightseeing, entertainment, and education for Thomas.  Even though it is hectic during my daily life, I would like to dedicate at least 2 hours a day (even if it starts at 9pm) to pure relaxation.  Making my own home a safe retreat will give me the energy and mindset to keep focused on my goals and tasks.  I rush to bed, rush to work, rush to daycare, rush to make dinner, rush to bathtime, and then it starts all over again.  We never know if each day will be our last, so I am going to savor each day and TAKE MY TIME!!!  In actuality, there is no reason for me to be rushed.  I have carved out a pretty good deal with my career/family, so I can take a few minutes to myself each day.

Now vacations are going to be totally fabulous….trips to NYC, Lajolla, Kenya, and Hawaii.  And these trips will not be to “totally” sit on my behind, but to enjoy the world and what life has to offer outside of my daily routine.

Let’s all start relaxing at home and playing hard on vacation!
