Learning To Recycle!

Yesterday I took Thomas for his first trip to the recyling center.  At first I thought that he was too young to begin learning about recycling. What is it going to mean to him at 23 months old?  But, then I realized that he already knows how to take things/trash to the trash can, so why can’t I already “train” his mind to put certain things in the recycle bin?

Pretty much we are both going to be training our minds to do something different from now on. I am taking this journey with him.  We all hear about how much we can save our environment by recycling products, using fuel efficient vehicles, and protecting the ozone layer but we are really waiting around for someone else to do it for us.

The only way that this can become a reality is if EVERYONE participates in their own way.  We are just starting with weekly newspapers and soda cans.  We will take our trip to the recycling center every two weeks.  While doing this, I can explain to him why we are doing it and make it into his “little project”.

I know it will be beneficial to both of us because we are living in a brand new world.

Let’s all contribute!
