Coupons Vs. Membership Warehouse Club

Have you heard about these women who get $200.00 worth of groceries for $2.00 using coupons?!!!  I have looked into how this works and in my opinion, if you have the time and can really eat whatever is in the coupon section that week/month, then this would be for you.

But what about just buying in bulk and saving money that way? I have a family of three so we don’t spend a huge amount on groceries per month but I would love to find ways to always cut cost.

What I am looking into now is cutting costs on our monthly “maintenance” things such as: toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, toiletries, diapers and wipes, etc. Things that I know we are going to NEED monthly. If I buy in bulk, maybe it won’t cost me as much as buying every three weeks with only a $1.00 off coupon.

Of course, I will always continue to buy my vegetables fresh (meaning not in bulk-I do use frozen) and stock up on the meats we normally use. But there is also ways to conserve by knowing what foods can be frozen and the expiration dates.

Last but not least, having a set menu in mind for the month can also cut down on the amount of trips you make to the grocery and just keeps you organized and non-frazzeled in general.

Bottom line, if you are not a coupon guru, then there are certainly others ways to cut family costs.
