And We’re Off…..!!!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, it is time for the mad dash Christmas planning.  But didn’t we just finish the mad dash Thanksgiving planning? Anywho, Since I had to work over the Thanksgiving holiday, I will not be pulling out my Christmas decorations until Monday night. I am one of these people who wants to celebrate Christmas as long as I can, so the sooner I get the Christmas decorations up, the better.

Over the past couple of years, I have tried to decorate minimally, making the Christmas tree the primary focus of the decorating. For me, less is more in my home. I do try and focus on a color scheme each year but you know you can never go wrong with red and green (and maybe throw some white and gold in there). Thus, the main focuses this year will be my Christmas tree, of course, and an excellently dressed dining room table. Even if I don’t eat off of my Christmas dinner ware, I love a great looking table.

Here are some photos I found of some great looking tree/table decorations (from Country Living):

Next, I usually like to have fabulous outside entry way decorations. You never know who is going to stop by or drive by.

I would love to have this look with the toy soldier for my son this year. This photo is from Sky Mall.

And then lastly, I like to have the smell of Christmas in the house with either fresh baked pie candles or pine and peppermint. Shopping is secondary to the decorating and I plan on doing mostly online shopping this year so that I can sit and enjoy my Christmas home.

Ok, you motivated me to do my decorating. I like the front door picutre. Going out tomorrow to buy all the items to copy that decor(if I can find a toy soldier). Christmas is my favorite holiday too! Thanks for the motivation.
