Where Does Your "Security" Lie?

Do you ever feel trapped in your life? What I mean by that, is that you are doing things that you don’t necessarily want to be doing or living the life that you KNOW is not in line with your destiny. But, you keep doing it because to “change” would be the biggest risk of your life and you are comfortable and secure in getting that paycheck every two weeks.

So the question is: Does your security lie in the life that someone else has created for you or in the number of hours you get on your job? Trust me, I do know that we do what we must do in order to provide and support our families but is this the only way and our only option?

If we truly believe in God, believe that he will provide all of our needs, and not put more on us than we can bear, then why can’t we stand on his Word and prepare to live the life we are destined to live? I am not saying for us to all go out and quit our jobs, but if there is something dwelling deep in us that needs to be lived out….PREPARE to make it a reality. I read an interesting article on Role Mommy.com about women making the decision to leave their jobs to pursue their true passion. This article reminded women that instead of making hasty decisions that may lead to more struggle down the road, that we should try to turn our current circumstances into ways that can accommodate our dreams as well.

One day we will not worry about what the balance of our checking and savings accounts are because we have FAITH, through preparation, that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us.
