From Diapers To Pull-Ups!

Yesterday, as I was picking up Thomas from daycare, I was told that his class is now going to the bathroom on a regular basis and that I needed to bring pull-ups instead of diapers.

I am getting help with potty training outside of the house. You do not know how relieved I am to have support from others while we go through this potty training transition. I know from much reading that it takes time for kids to feel comfortable going to the potty and that sometimes boys take longer than girls. But when your kid wants to put on his own diaper (like Thomas), it’s time for him to ask for the potty :-).  Another sign that he is SO ready for the potty is that he gets extremely upset when he poo-poos in his Pull-Up. we are really on the road to leaving diapers behind and on to Spider man underwear!

New site looks GREAT Kathy! Congrats!

Oh i LOVE pull-ups! I started the kids in these when they started walking. Actually Target brands hold up pretty well (but i’m a sucker for Sam’s bulk purchases!)

The joys of potty training – sounds like he’s on the right track to those spidey underoos!

I cannot WAIT until my youngest is ready for pull ups. These diapers have put a hurting on my bank account. But I think he may have to wear pull ups before he’s ready for them because he’s on the hefty side ( I call him juicy), and he is about to grow out of his diapers. His little booty hangs out of the sides of them. So I may be buying pull ups sooner than expected. LOL

That’s great that your son is ready for pull-ups. I thought Talin (my 2 year old) was ready a few months ago so I pulled out his potty. I thought that it wouldn’t be too difficult….after all, I bought the really cool potty that sings and praises him when he goes poo poo. He quickly lost interest in the cool potty and eventually began to kick and scream as soon as I mentioned “potty time”. I didn’t want to make him too frustrated (and myself) so I put potty training on hold for awhile.

Yes, it takes some time but with Thomas going to Pre-K 3 in the fall, I had no choice but to stay on top of potty training as much as possible.
We still have our accidents (he is not consistently asking for the potty) but we stay on a strict schedule. Talin will come around soon and I love his name.
Hope all is well and thanks for commenting!
