Reconnect To Your Power Source!

This past Sunday, our sermon topic in church was “Reconnect To Your Power Source”. Even though I felt like I was always connected to God, this sermon opened my eyes to several things. The sermon talked about how if we stay fully connected to the source that gives us the POWER to do all things, then we wouldn’t be going through half of the things that we are going through.

Being connected means having and maintaining that intimate relationship with God. The minister described intimacy as IN TO ME SEE! We need to look to God for all of our decisions and paths in life AND we should ask Him to look in us to help determine what it is that needs to be changed.

When I start to feel overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious about things in life (which I have been for the last few months), that is a clear indication that I have not been connected FULLY to my power source. My focus has been distracted with other things that I want, instead of focusing on what it is that the Lord wants from me.

The minister stated that we should get up everyday and ask…”Okay Lord, what is it that you want from me today? And how can I use my life today to bring focus to You? This statement really hit home with me. Instead of totally trying to direct my own path, I must release that mentality that I am doing it on my own. The Lord wants us to continue to work for the betterment of ourselves and our community, but we must not forget that it is through Him that we get our strength.

Lastly, another point that the minister made was that we must be in order at all times so that the Lord can work through us. He gave the example using a Coke machine. He asked why would anyone want to invest (put) their money into a Coke machine that has an “OUT OF ORDER” sign on it? That is how the Lord feels about us. Why would He want to invest blessings and favor on us, when we are OUT OF ORDER?! That is something to really think about.

I want to mention that the minister that was bringing the message on Sunday was 17 years old. We must remember that out of the mouths of babes comes wisdom.

How many “bars” do you have on your power source? Are you in order to receive what the Lord has for you?

What an awesome post! Love it! 🙂 We all need to connect to our power source a bit more, I think!
