Are you a person who plans and saves for those unexpected “what ifs” or are you someone who lives for the “here and now” letting the future take care of itself?
I was posed the “What would you do if you were me?” question by someone who wanted to purchase a BIG ticket item. I first answered the question for myself and not as if I were them. As of today, I am the person who plans for whatever surprises life may have in store for me. But when looking at the situation from another perspective, I gave a different answer.
Sometimes my planning may be “overboard” because the who truly knows what the future holds. I am now a believer that life has to be LIVED AND ENJOYED! This is not to say that “necessary” responsibilities be put on the backburner and I have blogged a lot about this. But if you are taking care of your business the way it should be…….then MAZEL TAV!!
I think we all should take the opportunity to splurge on ourselves and/or family a least once a year. These are the times memories are made. Yes, we will have to sacrifice during other times but that is what life is all about. Being able to make the transition from being a “planner” to a “liver” is a change is thinking. For the planner, we should thank God for giving us the wisdom to think ahead and plan for the future AND even more than that, thank Him for having the finances to do so.
The Lord did not give us a life of complacency. We should live our lives to the fullest and in all ways acknowledge Him.
