Your Virtual Pharmacist! Stocking Up For Winter Illnesses!

Here are just a few suggestions from Your Virtual Pharmacist that you should have on-hand at in your home for those unexpected/expected seasonal cold symptoms (i.e. cough, congestion, runny nose, fever, aches and pains):

1. A fever reducer and pain reliever…you may want to try Tylenol or Aleve. Make sure you that none of your over-the-counter purchases interact negatively with any prescription medication that you may be taking.

2. A decongestant in liquid or pill form. These sometimes come with a cough suppressant that will give you dual action for your cough and stuffy nose. Robitussin has a wide variety of cough syrups that will work for your specific cold symptoms.

3. An antihistamine to relieve your runny nose symptoms. This can also be purchased alone or in combination with your cough medication.

4. Cough suppressants…..which can also include cough drops

5. Plenty of Kleenex….self explanatory

6. Juices and water…..avoid getting dehydrated

7. Soups and crackers…this is all you will feel like eating while you are sick

You never know when a cold will sneek up on you and you want to be prepared instead of having to search the medication isles when you are not feeling well. I hope these tips help.
