Have You Been “Faithful” Over Your Present Situation?

I have recently had a conversation with a friend about needing and wanting more out of life. You know how easy it is to complain about your current situation and then we begin to ask God for a change in our life (for the better of course).

My friend hit me with a question for herself and for me which was…..”Are we being faithful over the things/situation that God has given you right now”? That is to say, the Lord blesses us everyday with things that we may overlook and take for granted. But are we “actively” appreciating and using our blessing/gifts for what the Lord intended?

Before the Lord will make a change in our lives, He wants to see that we can be faithful stewards over what we already have. That statement made me reflect on how I am living my life and the projection I am giving about it. My life is really GREAT when you put everything into perspective. No, everything won’t be perfect and line up exactly as we want it to be, but overall…..it’s not bad at all. My family and I are not hungry, I am able to pay my bills, my family and I have our health, and we are still able to do many things that we want to do.

This is not to say that this is it for me. That I cannot aspire to more in life, but we all need to take a good look at where we are, what our attitude is, and are we making the bestof our current blessings. If you are looking for a new job, have you done your best at what you are doing now? If you are looking for more money, have you been a good steward over what the Lord has provided for you now? If you are looking for a better relationship, have you done all that you can to respect the one you have now?

Take a moment to really assess your situation and what it will take to go to the next level!
