Does your child play sports? Have you heard on the news recently about teen athletes who, in the midst of playing sports, suddenly drop dead on the field or court? What is really going on?

One thing that we as parents can be aware of is the danger of concussions! In conjunction with the CDC, I am happy to put out information that may help save someone’s life.

It’s Better to Miss One Game Than the Whole Season

To help ensure the health and safety of young athletes, CDC developed the Heads Up: Concussion in Youth Sports initiative to offer information about concussions to coaches, parents, and athletes involved in youth sports. The Heads Up initiative provides important information on preventing, recognizing, and responding to a concussion.

The CDC has also teamed up with the National Football League to promote safety in youth sports. Go to this link to here what the commissioner has to say about this topic.

Please be aware of the dangers of concussions and be aware of the signs and symptoms to look for. Also watch this video to understand the seriousness of being careful.

Visit the CDC website for more information.
