Recent research shows that replacing 10 meals per week with a portion-controlled Healthy Choice meal, as part of a reduced calorie diet, can lead to improved quality of life and dietary quality.


I was asked by and Healthy Choice to participate in this blog campaign to get the word out about how eating Healthy Choice meals can lead to having more energy and a better diet.

I know for a fact that “portion control” will make you feel better in general about yourself and health. As I posted before, I gave up eating out for Lent and instead cooked meals at home that were all portion controlled. As Americans we look for ways to make simple, positive changes to our diets. By incorporating a ready-to-eat, pre-portioned healthy option, such as Healthy Choice, is a simple way to be more health conscious, lose weight and improve quality of life.

 I am not a stranger to eating Healthy Choice meals. I ususally will take one to work for my dinner when I am working the evening shift. My favorite is the Lemon Garlic Chicken and Shrimp. Two great things I like about Healthy Choice Steamers is that the veggies stay crisp and the sauces are very flavorful. Healthy Choice Steamers always have a wide variety of vegetables to incorporate into their meals. This particular meal incorporates spinach, onions, tomatoes and olive oil in a lemon-garlic sauce all over whole grain pasta. Now how great is that?


I try and make a conscious decision to encourage my family to live a healthy lifestyle. When cooking for my family, I try and incorporate vegetables that supply fiber, iron, and vitamins. Having an almost 4 year old son who actually loves veggies, I want to keep him interested and excited about eating them. We also have a family membership to the local YMCA so that we can stay as fit as possible without any excuses. Lastly, we try and get outside and PLAY whenever we can.
