This Sunday my husband preached from the subject It’s Time To Move On and referenced the people leaving Egypt after they had been set free. But were they truly free? Their physical presence was free but their mind was still enslaved. Once they reached the desert, they believed that they were going to die and felt that it was better under their “Master’s” hand. Because there they knew what to expect and had gotten comfortable with their life.
Does this sound like how we behave sometimes? Are we in a “comfort zone” that won’t allow us to move forward? Do we have the faith that we say we do in order to do what God has for our lives? Yes, it is scary to move on and do something different, but if our intent is to improve the world and not just self, the Lord will see us through.
Let’s not have a “slave” mentality. The only thing that is keeping us from “moving ahead” is ourselves.
