Before things start to get hectic with school starting and the beginning of Fall, this is a good time to purge your technology items. This includes your cell phone address book, your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and your email.
What I did was go through my cell phone contacts and deleted those “temporary” numbers that I had stored during the year (like a handyman or painter). Get ready to store more important numbers like your child’s teacher’s cell phone and/or other contact numbers.
With Facebook and Twitter, we tend to “like” or “follow” more random pages and people during the summer. Start “de-friend” those summer activity pages and random people who will not be a permanent asset right now. Basically we are getting rid of the clutter. Delete old photos and update them with more recent ones. If you use your Facebook or Twitter account for business, ALWAYS keep in fresh and new.
Begin to organize your email folders so that your mind can stay clear and documents can be easily accessible to you when needed. Add new email contacts for school and after school programs and set it up so that important emails can be texted to your phone.
I put a lot of new blogs in my favorites category this summer only to realize that a lot of them either took time off during the summer or just got to overwhelmed to keep up with their blogs. I am in the process of deleting those right now. You want to keep up-to-date blogs in your favorites category. Ones that keep you inspired and “in the know” of what’s going on in your interest or niche.
Clutter zaps everyone of their ability to get things done.
