The challenge for this week is to PLAY SOFT MUSIC EVERDAY IN YOUR HOME. This will be particularly great for our family since we all love music and I have also been considering installing speakers throughout my home for this very purpose. But until then, there are a couple of ways I will partake in this task.
First, I want to highlight one of my favorite CD’s “Relationships” by BeBe and CeCe Winans.
The lyrics to every song on this CD exemplifies what a marriage should be about…love, forgiveness, communication, and kindness.
Second, there are several music stations on the cable networks so we can just turn on one of them in the bedrooms instead of “zoning out” watching television all night.
Third, my son has a CD player in his room and I used to always play classical music for him at night. I will revive this tradition for the month of October and see if he wants to continue after the challenge is “officially” over.
The other part of this week’s challenge is to: Focus on using peaceful words and maintaining peaceful relationships.
Using peaceful words is what I need the most. It is very easy for me to be “short” or “curt” when talking to my family. Why do I do this? I really can’t give you a good answer because there is no good answer for this behavior. I am praising God for this challenge that has opened my eyes to a lot of thing that “I” contribute to not have a peaceful home.
Anybody still out there who is taking the “Challenge” with me? I would love to hear your comments and how you are doing.
Oh BTW, I am going to continue to light the candle every morning in my home to remind me that this home is a PEACEFUL one, PERIOD!!!
