As we finish celebrating Thanksgiving and go into the Christmas season, let us be reminded of the reason for the season. Every Monday leading up to Christmas, myself along with a fellow blogger, will be posting and challenging our readers to focus on Christ and be steadfast in his Word. I will be posting about creating a FAMILY environment whose center is Christ during the holiday season. My fellow blogger will be posting about how your HOME should reflect Christ as the center during the holiday season.

This week’s challenge for my readers is to: sit down as a family and talk about why this season is so important to us a Christians.

Let’s encourage one another not to get “caught up” in the retail aspects of the holiday season and bring the focus back on the birth of Christ and how His life (while here on earth) is the true testimony of what we can do with our lives.

For your little ones, you may want to check out this video “Why Do We Call It Christmas?” by Phil Vischer (the creator of Veggie Tales) to explain it in a more FUN way.

Why Do We Call It Christmas?

Matthew 1:21

And she will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins.”
