Our June Local Feature of the Month! Chattanooga Area Farmer’s Markets!

Do you ever dream what would be the perfect life for you IF you didn’t have to work? Well, I always envision myself shopping with a basket at a fresh market or farmer’s market and picking the most delicious fruits and vegetables that there are to be picked. My other dream is to grow my own fresh produce at my home.

Well, here in Chattanooga, we have a place where all of our local grower gather to sell us the best produce that they have to offer. It is the Chattanooga Market.

Not only do they sell produce, but there are arts and crafts, painting, and entertainment during the summer. Check back here next week to see my personal photos from the Chattanooga Market and also click here to get a calendar of events coming up this summer. They are normally opened only Sundays but there will be some special event during the summer.

Here is a list of some of my favorites to check out:

June 3rd- Big Band Swing Fest

June 24th- Blueberry Festival

July 1st- Support Our Troops

July 4th- Night Market

July 8th- Peach Festival

July 29th- Tomato Festival

Grace Episcopal Church, at the corner of Brainerd Rd. and Belvoir, has started bringing fresh produce to the Brainerd area via their church’s outreach program. The market is set up every Saturday in the churches parking lot and there are anywhere between 10-15 vendors set up. It is a nice browsing experience and you get to meet some really nice people.

The tried and true favorite for Chattanooga is Linda’s Produce located on Ringgold Road and it has been around for 16 years and counting. They have everything from hanging baskets of ferns, fresh fruit and produce and they buy from local growers, no matter big or small. If you have an overabundance of items in your garden, Linda’s will buy from you.

Come back soon to see our personal pictures from these area Farmer’s Markets!

Hope to see you there with your basket!

I was a regular of Linda’s from the time she opened until 8 years ago when I moved to Atlanta. Have not found any place like Linda”s since.
