Science for Preshoolers

I am a huge advocate for supplementing your child’s learning at home through what I call “a bit of homeschooling”. Even though my son is in traditional kindergarten, I still receive newsletters from many of the preschool sites that we signed up for about a year ago. They offer great lessons and activities that you can do with your child at home and encourage learning.

One of the sites is Science for Preschoolers and I received a newsletter about a lesson plan about butterflies, activities surrounding butterflies and book selections. I thought I would share them with you to get you on the road to a “bit of homeschooling”.

The lesson plan is simple and easy, not a lot of steps, and fun as well. Now that it is coming up on Spring, this is a perfect time to study butterflies.

Here is a book that they recommend to go along with this simple lesson plan along with one of our favorite books…The Hungry Caterpillar.

I hope you find a lot of ways to work with your child at home with learning.
