Our Spanish Immersion Class!

So far, Thomas and I have attended three Spanish immersion classes in our city and I wanted to give you guys an update on how it is going and why we actually decided to take this type of class.

The immersion class is offered as a Parent/Child class so that someone else in the family can speak and practice the languages together. I think this is great because otherwise, we could not communicate together and I would be a poor teacher since I don’t speak Spanish at all. My husband is not taking the class but he is picking up a many of the words and conversations that Thomas and I are having at home.

Our classes have reviewed everything from alphabet, colors, numbers, person, place and things. Now we are starting conjugate verbs which is my least favorite part. What we really want to get out of the last two classes is how to order from a Mexican restaurant, learn most of the items in a grocery store and how to find the bathroom. LOL!

Luckily, our teacher said that we can make the class whatever we want it to be so I think that our class should go on a field trip and make the most of our last classes together.

Would I recommend an immersion class? Yes, especially if you are into having your child/family learn a second language, are going to be traveling soon or enjoy learning about different cultures and diversity.
