I have successfully completed the first week of the Whole 30 program and I am extremely excited. It has not been easy and I will tell you why. During the first week, it was difficult for me to stay satisfied with my hunger. I know it was just psychological but I always seemed hungry. Also, I had frequent headaches the first few days. I am sure this was from the withdrawal of sugar and my lack of caffeine (I was a Coke drinker). The last thing that was tough was decided what to prepare for meals everyday. This post is just to show you a few pictures of some of the meals that I ate during my first week.
Strawberry and banana nut bowl. This was a breakfast, as well as snack
Shrimp, crab, avocado lettuce wraps for lunch
Grilled shrimp salad over baby spinach with nuts. I squeezed lime juice over it for my dressing.
Grilled steak with onions and green bell pepper and a baked sweet potato.
I have started a Pinterest page for my Whole 30 meals and recipes and many of them are not my own but just suggestions from people who have done it in the past. This will help a lot when you have exhausted all of your own possibilities.
I have committed to not stepping on the scale until the end of each week so that I won’t torment myself or get discouraged. But I have lost 4 lbs at this point and my blood pressure has been better than on medication alone. That is a huge accomplishment for me.
Looking forward to week two!
